Things I Love: 2nd Month

One thing I love on blogs is seeing what kind of things other moms love to us and can't live without. I sure have found some cool things and I have found some things I want to try. So, every month I am going to put up the items we are currently loving to use for Caelyn. Maybe you will see something you don't have yet!

Since I didn't start blogging until now, I'm going to include what we liked when she was first born for those soon-to-be mommas!

1. The Boppy

The Boppy is a MUST for all new-mommas! When I was breastfeeding, it was perfect and made it tons easier to hold her there. I had a c-section, so it stopped her from laying on my incision. It also is awesome for tummy time and she sleeps on it when she sleeps with us. She hangs out in it. (Robert thinks it makes a nice pillow too haha). This is a MUST! Seriously.

2. Fisher Price Infant-to-Toddler Rocker:

I received this as a gift at my baby shower - Awesome! Some of the other bouncer seats seemed generic to me. I love this one. Caelyn loves it too! It has a kickstand that comes out which will be awesome when she can eat baby food, instead of putting her in the highchair. It turns into a seat for toddlers. I also like that it rocks, so if she is fussy, i just rock it and she loves it!

3. Dr. Brown's Bottles:

A friend of mine told me about Dr. Brown's bottles when I was pregnant. I was skeptical at first, but I read into them and talked to a lot of people (mostly random people I saw out and about) and everyone said they were great. I gave it and registered for them. I got a lot at my baby shower and I love them! They are a bit more expensive than regular bottles and slightly harder to clean because of a tube inside, but it is worth it. It is made to stop gas and colic. Caelyn has never had a tummy ache and I believe it is because of the bottles. Only problem is that if you put cereal in the bottles, sometimes it can get clogged in the valve - solution? make sure you warm it! and it passes through with no trouble!

4. Little Tummy's Gripe Water:

Does your baby get hiccups? Gripe Water is the solution! Poor Caelyn had hiccups sooo much in the beginning - because of her reflux. She would spit up so much and cry and cry until they were gone. It broke my heart. Then I was looking through a medicine kit I bought at Babies R' Us and I saw this. I thought what the heck I will try it. Sure enough, it works! This stuff is amazing. It can be a bit pricey about $10 a bottle - but it is a big bottle. I find it at Target and Krogers. But, it is worth it!

4. Mylicon Drops:

Mylicon Drops are awesome! My aunt one day told me that she put Mylicon Drops in all of her babies' bottles - my other aunt did too. Their friends did too! I started to also. It takes away the bubbles in the bottle and it stops Caelyn from getting gas pains! Granted, she passes gas a lot haha but she doesn't have tummy problems because of it!

A few other things I suggest all parents to have is:

  • A gym mat: don't think you won't have to get it until the baby is older. Wrong! By a month old, Caelyn loved hers! She loves to lay on the floor, kicking and cooing.
  • A mobile: I thought mobiles were just for decoration. Man I was wrong! She loves to stare at this thing and smiles. I love it.
  • Disposable Changing Pad: I found these at KMart and I am soooo glad that I did. A lot of times the changing tables are out of these things. I have one of those pads that came in the diaper bag but this is like paper or something and I lay it over top of the pad. It comes in handy
  • A mirror for the headrest in the car - Caelyn stares at herself and I can see her! I didn't register for one or buy one - My aunt gave me it. Thank God. I can put her pacifier back in her mouth without turning my head (which is dangerous) I can look in my rearview mirror and see the mirror. Definitely a must.

What are some baby things you love? There are sooo much I like and soo much I can't wait to use and try!
